Job description
Your hours
This is a full-time residential role for a fixed period of up to one year. Though negotiable, a typical breakdown of duties is as follows:
clinical: 3 days per week
clinical administration: 0.5 days per week
quality improvement: 1 day per week
personal study: 0.5 days per week
Your oversight
You will work in cooperation with the rest of the Olongapo-based staff, sharing tasks when skill mixes overlap and at times of high demand.
You will be line managed by our chief medical officer.
Your duties
Clinical healthcare of detainees, ex-detainees and their dependents
Clinical administration
Quality improvement of one of our services - healthcare, expertise, advocacy, research or training - determined by your interests.
Other: timely completion of other suitable tasks, allocated at daily meeting
Team work: including attending (and sometimes leading) daily team meetings

Your obligations
Food: you will supply and pay for your own food
Insurance: you will obtain and fund your own travel and medical insurance
Safeguarding: you will pay for your disclosure and barring service (DBS) or equivalent check
Travel: you will pay for your own travel, except for local work travel
Utilities: a reasonable charge will be made for your use of electricity, gas and water
Visas: you will pay for your visas
Your expectations
Accommodation: free furnished bedroom with night time air conditioning, and use of staff kitchen and living room. Occasionally for short periods, it may be necessary to share your room with another volunteer of the same gender.
Annual leave:-

we also observe all Philippine public holidays

Occupational health: free annual check-up, as-required medical advice, and use of on-site gym
Probationary period: three months
Salary: this is a voluntary role suitable for a tourist visa

Experience, knowledge, qualifications & skills
Essential
Able to learn to use electronic medical records (EMR)
Excellent standard of spoken and written English
Graduate of a medical or nursing degree
Desirable
Graduated between one and five years ago
Ability to learn basic Tagalog phrases
Car/van driver with clean licence
Complete fluency in spoken and written English
Experience of using EMR
Knowledge of health and social care issues affecting detainees, ex-detainees and their dependents
Leadership skills including the leading of Christian team devotions
