We provide short-term training for student and junior healthcare professionals. (If they stay beyond three months, we consider them staff.) Here are our about-to-start and current trainees.

On-the-Job Trainees

In typical Philippines style, cohorts of On-the-Job Trainees (OJTs) start with us at very short notice throughout the year.

Elective students

April - May

Miss Isaura Koromo

Isaura is a final year medical student at the University of Sunderland.

She has long wanted to visit the wants to visit beautiful countries like the Philippines with its rich history and culture. She feels strongly that everyone has the right to healthcare. And she likes getting stuck into new experiences and learning from people of different cultures.

To relax she loves reading, action movies and singing.

May - June

Mr Benjamin Barnes

Ben is a final year medical student at City St George’s, London.

Born and bred in London, one of his passions is giving back to his community and seeing the benefits of helping others.

In his spare time he enjoys climbing and reading. And he hopes to improve his SCUBA diving during his time in the Philippines.



Mr Jack Meadows

Like his friend Ben, Jack is a final year medical student at City St George’s, London.

He is deeply committed to improving the health and human rights of people in prison settings. As a future general practitioner (GP), he aims to provide patient-centred, equitable care to individuals from all backgrounds.

To relax, he hopes to join Ben in learning to SCUBA dive during his time in the Philippines.

Mr Mirza Iqbal

Like his friends Ben and Jack, Mirza is a final year medical student at City St George’s, London.

After first wanting to be a teacher, he did some work as a hospital porter. This helped him decide to switch to studying medicine.

Depending on how his swimming progresses, he too hopes to join Ben and Jack in learning to SCUBA dive during his time in the Philippines.
