Why Medical Ethics?
As a non-profit organisation that provides healthcare and related services to detainees globally, we understand the necessity for medical ethics. Working in healthcare, especially with vulnerable populations, poses many ethical quandaries and it is important to be able to think logically about how to proceed in certain clinical scenarios for the benefit of the patient and for wider society.
Therefore we believe, to support the next generation of healthcare professionals, we must ensure good quality training in medical ethics. The Institute of Medical Ethics (IME) is a charitable organisation that promotes the study of medical ethics and its application to real-world clinical practice. We have long endorsed the good work that the IME does for students in healthcare and would recommend their resources and membership.

The IME also run competitions and award grants and scholarships to encourage participation in understanding ethics.
