Inductions
Non-Filipinos
We give all non-Filipino staff, trainees and volunteers a pre-arrival, Q&A-based virtual induction. It covers all aspects of preparation from behaviour to culture, jailcraft to journeying, and packing to vaccinations.
Then, once they’ve arrived, we have a further (generally face-to-face) induction day - often by a pool or on a beach. We go over the basics from the virtual induction once more. And then we cover other things from jet lag to orientation, cultural conundrums to infection control, and personal safety to dealing with the ever-present poverty.
Filipinos
We give bespoke inductions for local staff, trainees and volunteers.
Other courses
We give our staff, trainees and volunteers access to the same courses we run externally.
Ongoing training
We also draw up individual continuing professional development plans for each member of staff.
