Speaking Truth to Power
equipping christian healthcare professionals for the public square
why
Proverbs 31:8-9 tells us to 'Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy'. Yet that’s easier said than done without the appropriate skills, not to mention the nerve! So, if you’re at all in need of either of these qualities, this course will skill you up and road test your nerves. It’s also an excellent taster of our year-long Health & Justice Track.
Who
This course is open to Christian healthcare professionals (HCPs) who want to:-
help individual patients,
advocate for vulnerable patient groups,
speak the truth of Christian values to those who have power in healthcare systems, medico-politics and general politics.
All CMF members are welcome, as are those who are members of other organisations sitting under the ICMDA umbrella. We also welcome expressions of interest from other potential participants. No-one will be obliged to speak during the practical training exercises (marked * below), although full participation is encouraged.
